[1] How and when the human being was created was
told in two different stories in The Bible. While this fact is told as “So God
created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created
them; male and female he created them” (Genesis: 1/1 – 2/4) in the first
one, “first man was created and then the women was created from the rib of the
man” (Genesis: 2/4 – 25) expression is used in the latter one. In Qur’an
different kinds of soil was used to describe the material. (As examples look
Hijr (15): 26, 28, 33; Rahman (55): 14) For more detailed information look:
Turkish Religious Foundation Encyclopaedia of Islam
[2]Genesis: 2/7 (This sentence is in accordance
with the 59th ayah of Al-i Imran in Qur’an with the meaning of “He
created Adam from dust”)
[3] Qur’an, A’raf (7): 11 “Then We said to the
angels ‘Prostrate to Adam’”.
[4] Although according to Islam
Allah’s having or bearing a son is impossible, this sentence exemplify angels’
being commanded to prostrate to Adam.
[5] Hebrews: 1 / 6
[7] Genesis: 4/3 – 5 (Qur’an, Maidah (5): 27 – 31
“They both offered a sacrifice [to Allah], and it was accepted from one of them
but was not accepted from the other.”
[8] Qur’an, Ankabut (29): 14 “And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a
thousand years minus fifty years…”
[10] Qur’an, Nisa (4): 125 “Allah took Abraham as an
intimate friend.”
[11] 2.Chronicles: 20 / 7
[12] Isaiah: 41/8
[13] Qur’an, Hud (11): 71 – 72 “And his Wife was
standing, and she smiled… She said, "Woe to me! Shall I give birth while I
am an old woman and this, my husband, is an old man? Indeed, this is an amazing
thing!"
[14] Genesis: 18/12
P.S. Although in The Bible it is told that the
wife of Abraham smiled after she had learned that he would have a son, in
Qur’an it is mentioned that she learned that she would have a son after she
smiled as she had learned that angels came for the people of Lot.
[15] Qur’an, Qamar (54): 37 “And they had demanded
from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes…"
[16] Genesis: 19 / 11
[17] Qur’an, Qasas (28): 15: “And he entered the city
at a time of inattention by its people and found therein two men fighting: one
from his faction and one from among his enemy. And the one from his faction
called for help to him against the one from his enemy, so Moses struck him and
[unintentionally] killed him…"
[18] Exodus: 2 / 11 – 14
[19] Qur’an,Taha (20) : 12 “… so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in
the sacred valley of Tuwa.”
[20] Exodus: 3 / 5
[21] Qur’an, A’raf (7): 133 “So We sent upon them
the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood ...”
[22] Exodus: 8 / 6
[23] Exodus: 8 / 24
[24] Exodus: 7 / 20
P.S. Even though there are some similar
sentences about Moses, Pharaoh and his folk and the children of Israel both in
Qur’an and The Bible, when examined in details it can be clearly understood
that differences are more than similarities (Look at the Comparison Part).
[25]Qur’an, Saffat (37): 139 – 141: “And Jonah… when
he ran away to the laden ship. And he drew lots and was among the losers.”
[26]The Bible, Jonah: 1/3 – 7 – abridged – (Despite
the similarities in a couple sentences about Jonah some expressions like “God
changed his mind about the calamity that he had said he would bring upon them;
and he did not do it” or
God may turn from his fierce anger” are totally
controversial according to Qur’an. (Look at Part 3)
[27] Qur’an Maidah (5): 116 – 117: “And [beware the
Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the
people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah?'" He will say,
"Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right.
If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and
I do not know what is within Yourself … I said not to them except what You
commanded me - to worship Allah , my Lord and your Lord…
[28] Luke : 4 / 8
